Update 3: PSPA Revoked, Hervey Bay

A 57-year-old Urangan man has been charged with ten offences, including attempted murder, following a PSPA declaration in Urangan last night.

Police were called to a Boat Harbour Drive address around midday yesterday and located a man armed with a knife making threats.

An emergency declaration was subsequently declared around 6.30pm and negotiations with the man continued overnight.

Officers deployed a taser and took the man into custody around 6.45am this morning.

During the interactions, the man sustained a minor injury to his head and was transported to hospital.

One police officer also sustained a minor injury to his right arm.

The 57-year-old Urangan man has been charged with two counts of attempt to murder, four counts serious assault police officer whilst armed with a weapon, wilful damage of police property, possessing dangerous drugs, contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, and use a carriage service to make a threat to cause serious harm.

He has been refused police bail and is due to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on August 21.
