Update: Armed robbery arrests in Deception Bay and Dakabin, QLD

Police have charged a man and a woman following two alleged armed robberies in Deception Bay and Dakabin overnight, November 22.

It will be alleged at approximately 6pm, a 28-year-old Burpengary East man threatened staff with a firearm at a take-away restaurant along Deception Bay Road.

He left empty-handed in a blue Ford Fiesta.

It will be further alleged the same man entered a grocery store along Whitehorse Road in Dakabin around 6.30pm and threatened staff, stealing cigarettes and money.

No one was physically injured during either incident.

The man again allegedly left the business in the blue Ford Fiesta which was intercepted by police along the Bruce Highway just after 7pm.

A 36-year-old Petrie woman was taken into custody at the scene without further incident.

Police located a firearm close to where the car was intercepted, and it will be tested to confirm if it is linked to the alleged robberies.

The 28-year-old Burpengary East man was taken into police custody at a Twists Road property a short time later.

He has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, and one count each of armed robbery, dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful possession of weapons, evasion offence, and driving unlicensed.

The 36-year-old Petrie woman has been charged with armed robbery.

Both are due to appear at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today, November 23.
