Northern Territory Police are continuing to search for a stolen firearm taken from a residence in Braitling earlier this morning.
Police have identified two 12-year-old witnesses, who provided a description of the offenders after they were allegedly threatened with the stolen Remington 7615 Pump Action 223 fireman near the residence.
The offenders are described as being of Aboriginal appearance, mid to late teens. One was wearing a sleeveless shirt with a white emblem on front left upper chest, black and white shorts with a beige cap. The second offender was wearing a mustard t-shirt, black long shorts with a black cap.
They were last seen about 1:30pm walking from Harvey Norman towards BP Service Station. They were unarmed at the time. Police initial enquiries indicate the residence was entered and the offenders located the unsecured weapon under a bed, before fleeing the property.
Anyone with information or witnessed anything in relation to the theft is urged to contact police on 131 444 and quote number P23361421.
