The SA Country Fire Service advises that the fire 12km South of Port Broughton near Wokurna on the Yorke Peninsula is contained. The fire has burnt 280 hectares towards Port Broughton.
During the day the fire has jumped previous containment lines due to strong winds in the area, and crews we be working throughout the night to extinguish any hot spots.
SA Police and SA Ambulance have been responded to support crews. For your safety please remain cautious when driving in the area. Overnight there is expected to be smoke in the area. The public is reminded that when passing emergence service vehicles the speed limit is 25km an hour.
