On Wednesday 17 June, 2020, emergency services, including CFA and Victoria Police, responded to a suspected chemical leak lasting for around 3 hours. It involved road closures and Council assisted with providing some road signage.
It caused strong odour around the Coombes Road area and Council are aware it resulted in three people in hospital with respiratory concerns.
The area was given the all clear at around 10.30am yesterday, with CFA continuing to monitor air quality in and around neighbouring houses and packing up the area just after 12pm.
Worksafe were notified and are investigating the incident. Council officers are currently making enquiries with the relevant authorities.
