Over 70 properties in Darwin’s northern suburbs are set to have graffiti removed under a new Government and City of Darwin initiative.
The Territory Labor Government, in partnership with City of Darwin is undertaking the removal of graffiti along fences on two of Darwin’s busiest suburban commuter roads – Vanderlin Drive and Lee Point Road.
The initiative forms part of a recent joint agreement by the Territory Government and City of Darwin to improve amenity and deliver community infrastructure within the Darwin Municipality.
Works will be conducted by Government contractors, and involve a range of treatments including painting over graffiti and replacing shade cloth where applicable.
Nineteen properties on Vanderlin Drive and 56 properties on Lee Point Road have been identified, with works to begin in February.
The graffiti removal initiative forms part of a $1.73 million funding agreement with City of Darwin announced last year, which also includes the delivery of female change rooms at Malak Oval and electronic speed check signs at a number of Darwin schools.
