Victoria have named a 12-player squad ahead of its Toyota Second XI match against Tasmania, which begins in Greenvale on Monday.
Carlton’s Jai Lemire, Melbourne’s Blake Thomson and St Kilda’s Harry Dixon have all been included, with the Blues’ Xavier Crone to captain the side.
Cricket Victoria’s Talent Development Manager – Male, Tom Evans, Prahran head coach Julien Weiner and current Victorian bowler Peter Siddle will make up the coaching group for the game.
Cricket Victoria’s Head of Male Cricket, David Hussey, said:
“We’re looking forward to heading out to Greenvale for the first time and using their facilities.
“We feel we’ve got a well-balanced squad, with all of our batters in good form and having made plenty of runs in Premier Cricket to start the year.
“It is also a great opportunity for our young bowling group to work with Peter Siddle, and I know all the boys are keen to learn from one of the great bowlers in our state’s history.
“This game offers yet another chance for all of our players to put together some strong performances and put their hands up for Shield selection.
“The boys are excited for the challenge and keen to get back out there for some four-day cricket.”
