The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is proud to welcome Karyn Sobels as its new President.
Ms Sobels has served as Deputy President since 2016 and was Chair of the Victorian Chamber’s Small Business Taskforce.
She brings over 30 years’ experience in the retail, telecommunications and banking sectors to the Presidency. As a small business owner, Ms Sobels has significant appreciation of the challenges and opportunities faced by SMEs.
Ms Sobels is Principal of business advisors SKS Hub Pty Ltd and serves on the boards of the Telstra Licensee Association, Riskinfo and SME Private Advisory Panels.
VCCI Board Director Adrian Kloeden was appointed Vice-President to serve alongside Karyn in their three-year terms.
Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Mark Stone AM said Ms Sobels would bring a fresh perspective to the Presidency based on her extensive business experience.
“Karyn is a very accomplished businesswoman who will bring more than 30 years’ experience across a variety of sectors to the role. Karyn is the first female business leader to hold the position and as a successful business owner, Karyn appreciates and understands the challenges facing small businesses in Victoria and will champion for a better operating environment in which they can grow.
