A man will face court today for the alleged sexual abuse of a girl in Sydney’s north.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation at the weekend following reports a man was travelling from Victoria to engage in a sexual relationship with a young girl in Sydney.
About 10pm last night (Saturday 7 December 2019), detectives arrested a 22-year-old man in a hotel room at Chatswood.
He was taken to Chatswood Police Station and charged with eleven counts of intentionally sexually touch child, five counts of have sexual intercourse with child and two counts of intentionally do sexual act with child.
Police will allege that on five separate occasions the man arranged via social media to meet the girl at a hotel in Chatswood and engage in sexual activities with her.
He was refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court today (Sunday 8 December 2019).
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
