Violent assault appeal in Acacia Ridge, QLD

Investigators are seeking public assistance to identify four men and a vehicle following investigations into a violent assault in Acacia Ridge, January 22.

Police were called to a shopping centre on Elizabeth Street, at around 5 pm, where a 17-year-old Algester boy was allegedly assaulted by seven males.

As part of an appeal, footage released shows the males chase the 17-year-old through the carpark and violently assault the boy, before fleeing toward Beaudesert Road in several vehicles including a Holden Commodore (pictured).

Four males, one of whom was driving another vehicle involved, were apprehended following investigations.

Investigators are seeking any witnesses with relevant information to identify the males, the Holden Commodore or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

The now 18-year-old victim remains in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable but critical condition.

A 16-year-old Redbank Plains boy was apprehended the following day (January 23) and was subsequently charged with going armed so as to cause fear, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of affray. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in March.

A 17-year-old Redbank Plains boy was apprehended on January 23 and was subsequently charged with possess dangerous drugs, possess drug utensil, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of affray. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in February.

A 17-year-old Redbank Plains boy was apprehended on January 24 and was subsequently charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of affray. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in February.

A 16-year-old Bellbird Park boy was apprehended January 31 and was subsequently charged with going armed so as to cause fear, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of affray. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in February.
