“This is an outstanding result for our community and I’m looking forward to seeing all these projects come to life.
“On behalf of Council, I extend my thanks to the State Government for their ongoing support.
“The Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund is a vital program that supports the critical delivery of infrastructure and responds to the pressures experienced by fast-growing and interface outer suburban areas like the City of Melton.
“We certainly hope to see it continue long into the future.”
FUNDED PROJECTS
Cobblebank Community Services Hub
Located in the heart of the accessible metropolitan activity centre, the $16.91 million Cobblebank Community Services Hub will provide a purpose-built facility that will help meet the needs of the City of Melton’s growing community. It will attract a range of critical localised services including allied health, education and social services.
Earlington Square Reserve Upgrade
Earlington Square Reserve upgrade will comprise improvements to the formal and informal play and activity spaces and associated infrastructure, such as paths and picnic facilities, at this highly visible reserve. The $900,000 upgrade will improve the accessibility and amenity of this local open space while contributing to improved health, safety and wellbeing outcomes for the community.
The Parkway Reserve Upgrade
The Parkway Reserve upgrade will improve the essential, local open space offerings in Caroline Springs, that will not only be accessible, but will also improve local safety, and health and wellbeing outcomes. This $1.3 million upgrade will include improvements to paths, grassed areas and activities for children and teens.
Navan Park Upgrade
The $1.62 million upgrade of Navan Park will improve connectivity and amenity throughout the park by improving tree planting, natural play areas, and amenities around the lake. This will enhance the range of passive and recreation facility offerings for all members of our diverse community.
Bridge Road Recreation Reserve Stage 2
Stage 2 of the Bridge Road Recreation Reserve is one of the final elements to be delivered as part of the Bridge Road Community Hub. The $7.5 million project will deliver active recreation facilities to support the rapidly growing community, and complete the shared path network through the precinct and improving connectivity with the Toolern Regional Park.
