Bayside Council is proud to support ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Volunteer Week and celebrate the important role volunteers play in our community.
Bayside Council offers several opportunities for community volunteering allowing residents to get involved with anything from Bushcare to library services.
Council’s extensive network of Library services use volunteers to help deliver valuable community programs like JP services, language classes, tech-savvy classes for seniors, and special interest programs for children and teens.
Council runs six active Bushcare groups that help protect and restore our beautiful wetlands and open reserves.
Council libraries also host several community craft and knitting groups. They knit or crochet squares to create beautiful, warm blankets that are donated to Wrap with Love and distributed to those in need.
There are numerous other volunteering opportunities in the local community where members make a valuable contribution to the Bayside community.
Volunteer Week is also an opportunity to explore the possibility of volunteering and discover how the environment, community education, sport or charity work could benefit from your unique skills and interests.
Bayside Mayor Bill Saravinovski said:
“We are proud to support our local volunteers and value the incredible contribution they make to our community. I am impressed by the number of people in our community who willingly give up their time, skills, and energy to help others,” Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.
