Three hundred and fifteen animals have been saved this year due to the combined work of the Kempsey Shire Council’s rangers and Friends of Kempsey Pound (FOKP).
Of the 315 animals coming into Kempsey Shire Council’s care a total of 231 animals were welcomed into the loving temporary homes of volunteers from Friends of Kempsey Pound, while arrangements could be made for their adoption or rescue.
Aaron Bray, Team Leader Rangers, is grateful for the level of support received by FOKP, a group founded by Marion Crowley and made up of dedicated volunteers from all around the shire,
‘Kempsey Pound is able to be a ‘no-kill’ pound thanks to the work of Friends of Kempsey Pound and its carers.”
‘This year an astounding 231 animals were taken into foster care by volunteers from FOKP, with 32 being safely returned home and 43 finding their forever homes. Many more animals passed through the care of FOKP and onto rescues.

‘A big thank you goes to all Friends of Kempsey Pound’s carers and to our animal-loving Rangers” Mr Milburn said.
