Voting in 2022 council elections

This October, almost 1.3 million eligible South Australians will receive their ballot pack in the mail for the 2022 Local Council Elections.

Ballot packs will arrive in letterboxes from 17 October.

Each ballot pack has a guide to voting in the 2022 Council Elections, the ballot papers for each election the elector is eligible to vote in, with profiles for all candidates a declaration envelope to place the completed ballot papers into and a reply-paid envelope to return the ballots and declaration envelope by post.

Councils make important decisions about your local communities and it’s important that you have your say in the future of your community.

Councils provide a broad range of services for people living with a disability, from in home care, transport services, education to planning for accessible public buildings and spaces.

We encourage all South Australian to vote in the 2022 Council Elections to ensure that you have a voice in the decisions that affect your everyday life.

ECSA is committed to ensuring all citizens can vote and provides inclusive and accessible voting information resources in multiple formats, so all South Australians have the opportunity to vote independently and take part in local government elections.
