WA’s ‘backyard’ showcased at Regional BBQ

Western Australia’s diverse food and beverage offering will be showcased this evening at a regional barbecue to celebrate the close of AgriFutures evokeAG.2024 in Perth.

The high-energy event at the iconic WA Museum Boola Bardip will celebrate theunique features of WA’s nine regions, and is among a packed schedule of 35 specialty side events surrounding evokeAG..

The two-day evokeAG. event, hosted in Perth for the first time, has attracted visitors from across Australia and the globe, with a record attendance of more than 1,800 delegates.

The side events are an exciting addition for the delegates to showcase WA industries, innovations and regional strengths, as well as explore global agrifood and beverage opportunities and supply chain challenges.

Among the events supported by the WA Government is a three-day regional tour of the South West, which will explore the famous Margaret River region and hear from local producers about their sustainability programs and innovative production processes.

“These regionally-focused events are being held across eight days to entice investors, innovators and thought-leaders already in Perth for evokeAG. to stay on and take advantage of the unsurpassed environment, climate and food production aspects the State has to offer.”

As stated by Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis:

“Western Australia is an agrifood production powerhouse with our local industry worth about $24 billion a year.

“Technology has always been at the forefront of WA’s agricultural industries, driving more sustainable and profitable production.

“This week’s events will connect our local industry with global innovators and investors and help take the State’s food and beverage producers to the next level.”
