Goliath Announces “Perfect Fit” Wahu + Waratahs Partnership
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA. Toy and game maker Goliath Games is chuffed to be partnering their iconic Wahu outdoor toy and games brand with famed rugby union legends, the NSW Waratahs.
This partnership is a perfect (footy) match, with both Wahu and the Waratahs thrilled to join up to promote their shared vision of getting kids and family outside and active. Wahu does this via its extensive, family-friendly range of toys and games, from Wahu footy’s and cricket sets, to pool slides and bodyboards, while NSW Rugby Union aims to encourage people of all ages, genders, sizes, and abilities to get involved in one of Australia’s most popular sports.
The sponsorship is an extension of Wahu’s already proven commitment to the growth of sport at a grass roots level. And this latest sponsorship deal has Wahu becoming Major Partners to the NSW Waratahs and NSW Juniors Rugby. As part of this collaboration, fans will see Wahu activation across a broad range of NSW Rugby Union events, including:
· NSW Waratahs
· NSW Juniors Rugby
· Sydney Juniors Rugby Union
· NSW Junior Gala days / SRJU Mini Gala Days
· NSW Junior and SJRU Grand Final Days
The Wahu / Waratahs partnership is a major win for all families who share the love of the game. After all, the Aussie born ‘n’ bred Wahu brand has always had a focus on outdoor fun and games, while Goliath Games, founded when Adi and Magreeth Golad fell in love over a game of Rummikub in the Israeli desert, is one of the few remaining family-owned and operated toy companies in the world.
Andrew Lee, General Manager of Goliath Australia/New Zealand says, “The legacy of NSW Rugby Union is well matched to Wahu’s. We both share a focus on fun and family. And we’re thrilled to be able to promote one of Australia’s most popular sporting teams on and off the field. We can’t wait to get started!”
NSW Rugby strives to be the pride and inspiration of New South Wales, both on and off the field. They offer loads of ways for young and old to get involved, kick a ball and share in the thrill of competition and the love of community. In 2021 they embarked on their Reset 22 campaign, striving to win back the hearts of the NSW public through their incredible culture, a determined team and active community engagement.
NSW Rugby Union CEO, Paul Doorn says, “Next season the Waratahs will return to our new state-of-the-art facility at the Sydney Football Stadium, and we’re excited to have Wahu as a major part of that return. This is a new chapter and a chance to engage with our community, our fans and our members, and Wahu’s focus on fun, family and commitment is the perfect fit.”
Both Goliath and NSW Rugby were founded on the love of a game – and we think that’s something worth celebrating.
The Wahu and NSW Waratahs sponsorship commenced on 28 May with Waratahs V Blues and will continue until the end of 2024. We can’t wait to see you on the field!
