A man who was wanted on outstanding warrants in the state’s Orana region has been charged today.
About 1pm (Friday 30 June 2023), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended Gilgandra after they received information regarding a wanted man being in the area.
A perimeter was established, with assistance from neighbouring police, and following inquiries, a 32-year-old man was arrested at a home on Wamboin Street about 2.25pm.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with the four outstanding warrants.
The warrants were for various offences including police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and domestic-related offences.
Police will allege in court that the pursuit occurred on Saturday 17 June 2023 in Coonamble.
The man was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 1 July 2023).
