Central Coast Mariners are the first side into the FFA Cup Final 2021 after a 1-0 win over Sydney FC at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Tuesday night.
Marco Ureña’s spot kick with eight minutes left on the clock was enough to send the Mariners into their first ever FFA Cup Final.
Having twice lost out at the Semi Final stage in the past, the Mariners put that run to an end with an impressive display, despite having not played a competitive fixture for almost a month.
Sydney FC goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne made a number of outstanding saves to keep the Sky Blues in the game, but ultimately he was beaten from the spot by the Mariners’ Costa Rican forward.
Central Coast Mariners will now face the winner of Melbourne Victory v Wellington Phoenix, with that Semi Final still to be scheduled.
Football Australia will be able to confirm the date and venue for that match in due course, as well as the date for the FFA Cup Final 2021.
