Bore water supplying Bredbo passed the EPA turbidity limit over the weekend due to the prolonged wet weather. Council is now carting water to the village to ensure the community’s access to high quality water is not interrupted.
Water usage is being monitored, and water restrictions may be introduced if it becomes necessary. As per Council’s ordinary procedure, the community will receive one week’s notice if restrictions are to be introduced.
If water turbidity levels return to normal pumping from the bores will resume and water restrictions will not be required.
Council is carting enough water for residents to undertake normal indoor water use: drinking, cleaning, washing, and bathing.
