Ballina Shire Council crews are attending to urgent water main repairs at the roundabout on Tamar and Grant streets in Ballina.
Water supply is temporarily unavailable to several properties on Tamar Street between Grant and Kerr streets. It is expected that this water interruption will be resolved within the next three to four hours.
Properties along Tamar Street, between Grant and Moon streets, may also experience low water pressure during this time.
The roundabout on Tamar and Grants streets is closed to traffic turning right onto Tamar Street from Grant Street, travelling north along Grant Street, and travelling east along Tamar Street from Kerr Street while these works are being carried out.
Motorists can still travel west along Tamar Street through the roundabout or turn left onto Grant Street from Tamar Street
Council’s Water and Wastewater team will make every effort to complete these urgent repairs as quickly as possible.
Council apologises for the inconvenience and will continue to provide updates via local media and Council’s website once more information is available.
Here’s some things to remember that will assist you during this outage
- During any water disruption it’s important to leave your taps off as the water may return at any time.
- When water returns it may be discoloured. This is due to sediment. Please run the tap until your water runs clear.
- Your water may appear milky. This is caused by small air bubbles. Don’t be alarmed it is not harmful, and will settle in a short period.
If you have any enquiries in regard to this matter please contact council’s Water and Wastewater Section on 1300 864 444.
