Community members are invited to sign up for Kingston, Represent to help shape key decisions, projects and services over the next two years.
We’re inviting residents, businesses, and community groups to register for our new Representative Community Panel.
This panel will feature 220 people to represent the many different groups, ages, backgrounds, cultural backgrounds, and perspectives that make up the wonderful Kingston community.
Kingston Mayor Hadi Saab said that the panel will play an important role in helping to shape Council’s decisions over the next two years.
“Council is excited to launch Kingston, Represent, which will see us partnering with our community and listening to a wide range of voices as we make key decisions,” Cr Saab said.
“We invite you to register to represent your opinions, your experiences, your neighbourhood and your suburb.”
All registrations will be considered and the 220-member Kingston Represent community panel independently selected to reflect our community.
The panel members will:
- Join an online forum and be asked to give feedback on key plans and priorities
- Be invited from time to time to join topic-specific workshops on key issues or projects, including locally based projects
- May be selected to join a 45-member representative Collaborative Engagement Group to meet for two years and deliberate on key issues.
Panel members will be paid an allowance for any in-person events they attend, to help cover any costs.
Kingston has a strong background in working collaboratively with our community on key decisions and has previously worked with community panels on issues including library services, planning and our customer service charter.
“We’re looking forward to working hand-in-hand with the Collaborative Engagement Group to explore the opportunities and deep-dive into some of the challenges facing Kingston,” Cr Saab said.
“Kingston, Represent members have an exciting opportunity to help make our city an even better place to live, work and play.”
