Police have charged two people with weapons and drugs offences following an alleged gel blaster incident in Springwood overnight.
Around 10.30pm police will allege members of the public sighted a man brandishing a weapon inside a white 2005 Holden Commodore wagon in the carpark of a fast food restaurant on the Pacific Highway, before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.
Police tracked the vehicle to nearby Park Road, Slacks Creek and upon searching it, allegedly discovered a gel blaster and dangerous drugs within and arrested its occupants.
A 28-year-old Waterford West man was charged with one count each of going armed so as to cause fear and possess dangerous drugs.
A 27-year-old Waterford West woman was charged with one count of possessing unauthorised and prohibited explosives namely fireworks and four drug offenses.
Both were granted police bail and will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court in July.
