Did you know, rates of cervical cancer for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are three times the non-Indigenous population?
The option to self-collect a Cervical Screening Test is one of our most effective tools in encouraging patients to undergo regular cervical screening.
Offering under or never-screened patients the option to collect their own Cervical Screening Test provides greater choice and empowerment in screening and discussing screening in a culturally sensitive manner can remove many barriers to participation.
Webinars
The ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation will deliver one-hour webinars for staff from ACCHOs and AMSs. Other healthcare workers who work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander patients can also attend.
Come along to learn more about how we can increase cervical screening awareness and participation amongst Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women and people with a cervix.
RACGP and/or ACRRM CPD points are available for attending this training.
Hear from:
- ACCHO sector staff on how self-collect is being implemented in their Community
- Professor Marion Saville, Executive Director at the Australian Centre for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer
