The Alcohol Think Again Jambo Africa Festival returns in 2022, with a two-day celebration at the Wanneroo Showgrounds.
Hosted by the Organisation of African Communities in Western Australia, this family friendly festival features market stalls, music, dancing, arts and cultural performances from across the African continent – as well as a unique African themed village.
Running from January 29-30, this free festival represents 50 diverse African cultures and in previous years has attracted thousands of attendees.
The festival is also hosting a pop-up vaccination clinic on-site, with all newly vaccinated participants receiving entry into a raffle for a special prize.
WA is home to approximately 100,000 Africa-born people who contribute their skills, knowledge and culture to the ongoing development of this State.
Jambo Africa is supported by the McGowan Government with $60,000 through Lotterywest, Healthway and the Office of Multicultural Interests.
More information about Jambo Africa can be found at
As stated by Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Minister Tony Buti:
“Jambo Africa provides a great opportunity for all Western Australians to experience a little bit of Africa’s truly dynamic cultures right on their doorstep.
“I thank the Organisation of African Communities in WA for their support of the Roll Up for WA campaign and encourage all those who need vaccinations to take the opportunity at Jambo Africa.
“I look forward to this year’s festival being a great success and urge everyone to bring their family to Wanneroo Showgrounds this weekend.”
