Welcomed back with open arms

RAAF

On the mark of almost 40 years, honoured alumni Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Brigadier General Ben Khedda Adnan bin Mohd Yussof returned to the School of Air Traffic Control (SATC).

Brigadier General Khedda returned as course centurion and reviewing officer for the most recent 196 Air Traffic Control course graduation.

SATC has an enduring tradition of inviting alumni as honoured guests on their hundred-course anniversary as ‘course centurion’.

Brigadier General Khedda began his career in 1986 by attending 95 Basic Air Traffic Control course at the SACTC at RAAF Base East Sale.

In 2003 and 2004, he was seconded back to SATC as an exchange instructor.

Later, Brigadier General Khedda served as the Head of RMAF Air Traffic Control School in Kuantan and is currently the RMAF’s Air Traffic Control Trade Master and Commander of Joint Airspace Management and Coordination Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Commanding Officer SATC Wing Commander Peter Clark commented on the relationship SATC and Brigadier General Khedda share.

“Having Brigadier General Khedda return to SATC, this time on parade as a reviewing officer, made for a unique and special graduation,” Wing Commander Clark said.

“Brigadier General Khedda is a great friend of SATC.

“In fact, 20 years ago, during his exchange tour, Brigadier General Khedda and his wife Faslin were blessed with the birth of their first child.

“So, as you can imagine, Sale holds a very special place in their heart.”
