Wellbeing events and activities for Territory’s international student community

The Lawler Labor Government has awarded $110,000 to support 19 events and activities that support the wellbeing of international students in the Territory.

The 2024 International Student Wellbeing Grants program aims to support students studying in the NT and is open to applicants from local businesses, student groups and community organisations

From skills and employment programs to art therapy and multicultural sports days the events and workshops are designed to assist international students to connect and engage with their fellow students, businesses and the community.

tThe International Sports Hub at Wharf One Food & Wine will be screening the Olympic Games daily between 12-9pm until 11 August 2024 with the hub an opportunity for international students to cheer on their home countries and join the local community to watch the games.

The team from Kindness Shake will host two activities including an employability program as well as a cultural immersion and settlement program and the Colombian-Australian Association of the NT recently hosted Colombian Independence Day at Melaleuca with cultural exhibitions, traditional music, dance performances and more.

There are over 4,000 international students from 65 different nationalities enrolled to study with the Territory’s quality education and training providers, helping to make the Territory the multicultural and welcoming community that it is.

The Northern Territory Government has awarded more than $950,000 in funding to local businesses, community organisations and student groups since the grant program commenced, engaging over over 14,000 international students.
