As a result of their continued investigation into a fatal crash that occurred in Welshpool on 14 February 2019, Major Crash Investigators have laid further charges against a 35-year-old woman.
It is alleged about 12.25am, the woman was driving a Ford Falcon sedan in a northerly direction along Leach Highway, when near the intersection with Welshpool Road, the Ford travelled onto the incorrect side of the road and collided at high speed with a motorcycle that was travelling south on Leach Highway.
The 24-year-old male motorcycle rider received critical injuries and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital where he died.
The 35-year-old woman from New Zealand has been further charged with:
• Failing to Comply with a Direction to Stop by Police;
• Failing to Stop and Render Assistance after Incident Occasioning Death;
• Failing to Report an Incident Occasioning Death;
• No Authority to Drive (court suspended); and
• Display False Registration Plates.
She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 27 March 2019.
