WA Health is reporting a total of 5,051 new cases to 6pm last night. There are currently 35,284
active cases in Western Australia.
To 6pm last night, there were 430 people with COVID-19 in hospital, 21 in ICU.
Sadly, today’s report includes two deaths, dating back to 16 July, which were reported to WA Health yesterday – two men in their 80s.

Of the 5,051 cases, 1,706 were confirmed via PCR test, the remaining 3,345 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total of 6,135 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
WA has recorded 1,030,453 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
In line with national guidelines, WA Health has adjusted the total number of reported cases in this State, to preclude secondary positive test results within 12 weeks of leaving isolation following initial COVID infection.
