Two Western Sydney mates have confessed they’re struggling to believe they aren’t dreaming after discovering they’d bagged an incredible $1 million in a recent Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The New South Wales residents held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4261, drawn Wednesday 15 February 2023.
“Mate, we just wanted to hear someone else say it! There hasn’t been a lot of sleeping in the last 24 hours, so it’s music to our ears,” the pair laughed when an official from The Lott confirmed their win.
“We started playing together more than 20 years ago, and we’ve always played the same numbers.
“Come to think of it, neither of us have any idea why or how we came to agree on these numbers, but I’m glad we did.
“We were originally colleagues, but over time we’ve become best mates, and Lotto has been one of the reasons we’ve stayed so close.
“We’re just so appreciative. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event, and we can’t believe it’s happened to us.
“The mortgages will be paid off, and we’ll see what’s left over.
“For now, it’s time to celebrate!”
Their winning marked 14-game entry was purchased at O’Briens Newsagency, Shop 4, 253 Windsor Street, Richmond.
O’Briens Newsagency owner Thuy Tran said they were over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry and planned to celebrate for weeks to come.
“It’s been a while since we sold a division one winning entry, so we’re ecstatic!” she said.
“I feel like I won the prize! It’s such an amazing feeling.
“We’ll be celebrating for weeks to come and can’t wait for the next winner to walk through our doors!”
