Hawkesbury City Council is creating a new website and asking for community feedback through a public survey.
People often go to Council websites for community information for a variety of reasons, according to the Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Barry Calvert.
“People may be looking for Library, Museum or Gallery information, booking camp sites, seeking animals to adopt, finding out about community consultation or simply paying their rates,” Councillor Calvert said.
“Our website is also a trusted source of information during times of local emergencies such as flood or fire, even if it is just about finding the correct link to the Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service or other community groups; we know that many people access Council’s website with a specific purpose in mind.
“Since we are making improvements and creating a new website, we would like feedback from community members and website users about our website so that we can enhance your online experience,” Councillor Calvert said.
“Through our survey, we would like to know how you use Council’s website; how often you use our website; what you like about the website; and what you would like to see on our new website.”
The online survey is open until 5pm on Tuesday, 11 June 2019 through the Your Hawkesbury Your Say link at
People who register with Your Hawkesbury Your Say can also offer ideas for the new website through the ideas tab. Just go to and click on the New Council Website link. The survey is also available by clicking on the website consultation form on the same link.
“I encourage you to visit Council’s current website at and provide us with feedback on any improvements that you would like to see,” the Mayor added.
The survey asks participants what areas they use on Council’s website, including:
- Companion Animal Shelter information
