Wheels turning on Hub

The next step towards an upgraded research and learning centre in Queenscliff has been taken, with the appointment of project management firm Cerno to lead the way on the development.

The Queenscliffe Hub, encompassing the existing Queenscliff Library, Historical Museum and Visitor Information Centre, will provide access to key services in one integrated building while rejuvenating the Hesse St streetscape.

Further to the appointment of Cerno, community engagement specialist Kismet Forward has also been selected to oversee the engagement activities for the project.

Numerous productive meetings have been held by the Hub’s Project Steering Committee, headed up by Bellarine MP Lisa Neville and involving a wide representation of community members.

Simultaneously, officers from the Borough of Queenscliffe, museum and library representatives, local residents and the State Government have been working through preliminary planning as part of the Project Control Group.

Funding from all three levels of government will contribute towards the successful completion of the Hub.

Council is in the process of developing an extensive community consultation plan that will engage the views of Borough residents before design work commences.
