The new Williams Landing Library Lounge is open and ready for residents to come and visit the new alternative library space.
Located at Shop1, 101 Overton Road, the colourful, new Library Lounge is architecturally designed with a warm ambience and is a wonderful addition to Wyndham’s Library services.
It has a small collection of 5,000 library items to borrow as well as free WiFi and hearing augmentation built in. It also offers library programs for all ages including Rhyme Time and after school activities as well as programs for adults.
Wyndham City Deputy Mayor and Learning City portfolio holder Cr Jasmine Hill said: “This unique library space has been designed to provide the community with a timetable of exciting programs for all ages, as well as easy access to a brand new collection of items.”
“Residents will be able to join the library, borrow and return items and collect reservations. Librarians will be on site and available to answer all enquiries.”
“The new Library Lounge will service not just Williams Landing residents, but also those living in Truganina.”
“Youth Services will also run programs after 5.30pm on selected days.”
The new Library Lounge is open between 10am-5.30pm Monday to Friday and will be closed during lunch from 12.30pm to 1pm. The returns chute will be open 24/7. Due to its size and focus on library programs, study spaces and public computers are not available at this location.
The new Library Lounge will complement our suite of Library services, together with the new Pop-Up Library Van that offers remote and agile library services and our existing book locker located inside the Williams Landing shopping centre, directly opposite Woolworths.
The full range of Library services will continue at our established library locations in Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Werribee, Tarneit and Manor Lakes.
