Southern Grampians Shire Council is pleased to announce the winners from the Telstra and Southern Grampians Shire 2019 Business Awards.
The winners were presented at a Gala Awards Ceremony at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre last night, recognising businesses that have achieved excellence in their business performance, provide outstanding service to customers and are innovative and entrepreneurial.
The Business of the Year was awarded to Pure Envy Beauty Salon, an outstanding business that demonstrates excellence across all areas of their business. Judge Kevin Bennett commented that the Pure Envy team has established a service business with solid foundations, systems and procedures. Combined with high standards of customer service and team engagement, they are a deserving winner of this award.
The Employee of the Year was awarded to Geoff Hinchliffe, from Dunkeld Caravan Park who the judge said has shown exceptional commitment to his work. His passion for customer service and ongoing professional development has resulted in significant improvements to the Dunkeld Caravan Park which is recognized by all who know him, making him a worthy winner of this award.
The Inclusive Business and Inclusive Employee of the year are awarded to businesses who offer employment to people with a physical, intellectual or psychiatric disability and the employees themselves who demonstrate high levels of customer satisfaction and commitment to their workplace. This year’s Inclusive Business of the Year was awarded to Hamilton District Skills Centre and the Inclusive Employee went to Edgar Ubergang.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Cr Mary-Ann Brown congratulated the winners of this year’s awards.
“The standard of entries for this year’s Telstra and Southern Grampians Shire Business Awards was again exceptionally high, with a lot of first time entrants which was very pleasing to see. l am sure judge Kevin Bennett had great difficulty in selecting the winners.
“I think our community can look forward to the future with confidence when we see such high levels of business excellence and customer service on display. Council is committed to supporting our local businesses and we look forward to continuing to work with the business community to further grow and develop all enterprises in the region,” Cr Brown concluded.
