Werribee City Centre will be buzzing on Friday 24 June with all of the attractions and fun of the Winter Street Party, from 6pm – 9pm.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Peter Maynard said that the free, Wyndham City event would provide a magical experience for families.
“The street will be alive with fire shows, light installations, ice sculpting, circus performances, music and warming winter fare from local businesses.”
“After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, we’re thrilled to see the Winter Street Party return to the city centre and to be able to celebrate together as a community once more.”
“This mid-winter event brings thousands of people into our city centre and into local businesses to enjoy so many great dining options, special experiences and late-night trading,” Cr Peter Maynard said.
Creative City portfolio holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud said that this year’s event would feature three entertainment precincts, including Station Place, Watton Street and the West End.
“There’ll be bright neon sculptures to explore, fire shows, ice sculpting and the interactive, Electric Meadow – a playful light and sound installation that responds to touch.”
“Roving performers including a magical Dream Bear and LED robots will delight the kids along with glow-in-the-dark face painting, gaming fun in the Street Surfer Bus and a wintery wonderland of craft activities,” Cr Mahfoud said.
The new Wyndham Culture Centre forecourt will feature aerial circus performances, including amazing feats from Wyndham’s Circus Fit Studio. And like all good parties, there will be great tunes courtesy of Junkyard Beats and local DJ, Raas Masters.
“There will be plenty on offer for green thumbs as well, with community stalls from the Werribee River Association, Nature West, Craig Castree and Werribee Heritage Orchard.”
“It’s also the perfect opportunity to explore Werribee’s buzzing dining scene, with dine-in and grab and go dining options,” Cr Mahfoud said.
The school holiday fun will extend into the weekend with the free Tarneit Firefly Market on Saturday 25 June.
