Specialist officers from Arson Squad and Bunbury Detectives are investigating a house fire in Withers at about 8pm last night, 15 May 2024.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were called to the home located on Thistle Street. The fire caused significant damage to the home with the potential for the roof to collapse, and exposing asbestos in the building. No-one was home at the time of the fire and there were nil injuries.
The cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious at this time, and police urge anyone with any information relating to this fire, or who has dash-cam vision of Thistle Street and Island Queen Street between 7.30pm and 8.30pm to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au
Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
