A woman is in a critical condition, and a man has been arrested, after a domestic-related incident in Sydney’s west last night.
About 10.30pm on Tuesday 25 December 2018, police responded to reports of a woman injured at a home on Messina Crescent, Bonnyrigg Heights.
Police have been told a 50-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man became involved in an altercation, before the woman was struck multiple times in the head with projectiles from a nail-gun, and the man fled the scene.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for lacerations to her face, before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital where she remains undergoing surgery in a critical condition.
Another man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for shock.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
About 3.45am today, a 20-year-old man was arrested by police nearby the crime scene in Bonnyrigg Heights, and taken to Fairfield Police Station.
