A new City of Ballarat leadership network dedicated to females aged 15 and over is proving a major success through local sporting and active recreation circles.
The Active Women in Leadership Network Sessions are designed for all sport and recreation enthusiasts who have an interest in networking, personal growth and development.
The focus of these sessions is around engagement and empowerment of women and girls. The sessions also provide a safe and supportive environment to share insights, challenges and creative opportunities in being active and staying active.
The objectives of the campaign include the creation of a safe environment to encourage social connectedness and friendships between the female participants.
The campaign also encourages the development of our local female champions and future leaders into ‘change champion’ roles.
The Network has a strong link to the City of Ballarat’s Active Women and Girls Strategy, which creates positive club culture environments, supportive infrastructure and opportunities to increase female participation in local media.
The second Ballarat Active Womens Leadership Network is scheduled for later this year.

“The achievements and breakthroughs of our female sportspeople recently have been amazing to witness,” the Mayor, Cr Ben Taylor, said.
“The City of Ballarat is very proud to be closely associated with the Women in Leadership Network Sessions and we encourage any interested females to join up.
“Networks such as this one are very important, not only for sport but for making strong connections throughout your life.”
