The fountain at Lakeside, Pakenham, has been replaced just in time for residents to enjoy summer days and the outdoors at the much-loved community landmark.
Cardinia Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Owen said Council was pleased to complete the works ahead of summer and ensure the iconic community space was preserved for generations to come.
The previous fountain had reached the end of its useful life and was replaced with a new fountain that recirculates even more water.
Toomuc Ward Councillor Stephanie Davies said the new fountain is not only a great feature, but provides greater aeration to improve water quality for plants and wildlife.
“It also has LED lighting displays with an exciting range of colour and program options to create a stunning backdrop for community events,” Cr Davies said.
“I’m sure the local community will welcome and really enjoy the upgraded Lakeside fountain,” Cr Davies said.
Council is also reconstructing the nearby viewing deck to provide a perfect spot to watch the fountain and enjoy the lake.
