The Rockliff Liberal Government continues to grow Tasmania’s visitor economy through a Tourism EOI process that invites creative and innovative tourism experiences within Tasmania’s Parks, Reserves and Crown Land.
Premier Rockliff visited Cradle Country Adventures who are a great example of how the Tourism Expression of Interest Process not only delivers incredible offerings, but supports local tourism and secures jobs in regional communities.
“Our Tourism EOI process has been helping to revitalise our regions by developing new and exciting experiences which attract visitors to all corners of our State, encouraging them to stay longer, spend more, and travel more widely.
“It creates direct jobs for guides and support staff, but also significant benefits to the supply chain through the purchase of goods; transport; equipment, food and fuel,” Premier Rockliff said.
“Whether it’s the Maydena Bike Park, Freycinet Lodge, or the Blue Derby Pods Ride – we have been seeing great projects become great successes with the help of the Tourism EOI process.
“As a result, Tasmania offers visitor experiences that are the envy of the world. And with it, brings social and economic benefit. Tasmania is in its strongest position to date as a visitor destination and this gives Tasmanian businesses the confidence they need to expand and invest in their businesses – while giving Tasmanians the confidence of a job.”
Minister for Parks, Nick Duigan, joined Premier Rockliff at Cradle Country Adventures and said that the Rockliff Liberal Government is the strongest supporter of protecting our natural and cultural heritage within our parks and reserves – whilst also recognising the importance of facilitating sensitive and appropriate tourism opportunities so that more people can experience all that our State has to offer.
“The Tourism Expression of Interest Process enables sustainable, sensitive, and appropriate tourism experiences across our parks, reserves and crown land,” Minister Duigan said.
“Tasmania’s natural environment is one of our greatest assets and our Government wants more Tasmanian, interstate and overseas visitors to enjoy a unique, world-class tourism experience that is compatible with the values of our natural areas.
“We believe that such tourism offerings are an excellent way to preserve, protect and promote greater use and advocacy for these areas.”
