Yarra City Council will receive nearly $2.5 million in funding from the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) for several road safety projects.

The projects include:

  • Miller Street traffic treatment: A substantial $546,000 has been allocated towards this project, which is programmed for delivery this financial year.
  • Clifton Hill and North Abbotsford – Road Safety Study projects: An allocation of $1.454 million will fund eight separate projects, with works scheduled for delivery in this financial year.

Council has also secured $421,000 for School Safety Improvement. This funding will create two raised pedestrian crossings in Princes Hill, planned for the 2025/26 financial year.

These projects, originally scheduled through Council’s Budget process, will now benefit from external funding, allowing for enhanced road safety measures across Yarra.

Yarra City Council is committed to creating a safe environment for all residents to travel, whether they choose to walk, cycle or drive.

These projects are funded with support from the Victorian Government through the TAC’s and IP43 Road Safety Program (School Safety Improvement).
