The Richmond Youth Hub, which is located at the housing towers at Elizabeth Street in Richmond, creates a safe space for young people to build social connections, encourages community participation and empowers young people to become leaders within their community. The hub also provides opportunities to coordinate services between local agencies and build local partnerships to help deliver tailored programs, services, and events for young people.
“We’re thrilled that the Victorian Government will continue to fund the Richmond Youth Hub for another year,” said Yarra City Council Mayor Edward Crossland.
“Young people in Yarra need a space where they can go to build friendships and have fun in a safe, supported and inclusive environment. Programs like the ones offered at the Richmond Youth Hub are also vital for young people who want to build support networks, understand their employment pathways, develop their creative skills or connect to services in a relaxed and supportive environment,” said the Mayor.
In a recent evaluation of the service, young people reported the hub as providing an opportunity to recharge and relax in a safe and supportive environment where they wouldn’t be judged.
The Richmond Youth Hub is located at 110 Elizabeth St, opened in 2021, and is delivered through a partnership between Yarra City Council and the Victorian Government.
