The annual 9/11 Commemorative Sports Day event between Queensland Police Service (QPS) and
Queensland Fire Department (QFD) is happening Saturday, September 7 at the Pine Rivers Sports Complex in Eatons Hill and you’re invited!
Now in its 13th year, the special sports day is held to mark the events on September 11, 2001 in New York City.
QPS and QFD come together to honour the lives lost in the tragedy, and to pay homage to the bravery exhibited by New York’s emergency responders.
With over 200 players involved, the day showcases both competitive rivalry and most importantly, camaraderie and brings the Queensland Emergency Response family together.
What to expect
- Food trucks – Pizza, BBQ, ice-cream and coffee
- Police dogs and horses
- Kid’s Corner with face painting and jumping castle
- Plenty of sporting matches!

The event is free to attend. A number of fundraising activities will be conducted to raise money for nominated charities including Fortem Australia and Queensland Firefighters Charity.
