Local young people have the opportunity to perform and enjoy a free music festival at the next SPOTLITE event at Julia Reserve Community Centre this month.
SPOTLITE involves a series of events that will feature local emerging bands, supported by local youth services who will share important resources and services for young people.
The event is designed to bring young people together in a safe environment, build confidence and self-esteem of young people through creative expression and the increased visibility of local emerging talent.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the event gave local young people the chance to get out and give local young musicians a chance to make a name for themselves.
“Camden has a wide array of talented young artists and performers, and this is their opportunity to get on stage,” Cr Fedeli said.
“SPOTLITE is all about giving young people the chance to have fun, build friendships and connections while also raising awareness of youth support services.
“We have already hosted a few SPOTLITE events, and they have been incredible successes. I encourage local young people to get involved with the next event.”
SPOTLITE will take place at Julia Reserve Community on Friday 16 December from 6pm.
