Macedon Highway Patrol officers will investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Riddells Creek this morning.
Police have been told a young woman was driving along Kilmore Road, about 500m east of Mount Charlie Road, when it appears she lost control and crashed into a tree about 7.15am.
Sadly the 21-year-old from Lancefield died at the scene.
The driver of a second car, in the vicinity of the crash at the time, stopped at the scene to help.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
