Set to be two of the more exciting events this year, registrations are now open for the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s community election forums.
The forums will give the Peninsula community an opportunity to meet local candidates ahead of the Victorian election on the 26 November.
The candidates for Mornington and Nepean will share their vision for the Peninsula and address local issues.
The Shire is holding two forums – one each for the Mornington and Nepean electorates, following the popular transport forum recently held in Hastings.
Mayor, Councillor, Anthony Marsh will chair the forums and ask questions of the candidates on behalf of the community.
Community members are asked to submit their question online, through the registration process, and the Mayor will put these questions to local candidates on the night.
Nepean speakers include: Esther Gleixner (Greens), Chris Brayne (Labor), Charelle Ainslie (Independent), Sam Groth (Liberal), Elizabeth Woolcock (Independent),
Mornington speakers include: Dr Kate Lardner (Independent), Harry Sinclair (Greens), Georgia Fowler (Labor), Chris Crewther (Liberal), Paul Pettitt (Freedom party).

Quotes attributable to Mayor, Anthony Marsh:
“I encourage our community to attend these forums and hear directly from the candidates – this is an excellent opportunity to learn about what each candidate has planned for the Peninsula if elected.”
“As a Council, we are asking candidates to consider funding and support for our ten key advocacy priorities, including affordable housing, Rosebud hospital redevelopment, road safety and protecting our coastline.”
